A severe traffic accident involving six vehicles, four lorries and two cars, has claimed three lives in Russia’s Moscow region.
Local media published footage from the scene showing heavily damaged vehicles and rescue workers moving among the wreckage.
According to initial reports, the crash was triggered when a fuel tanker ploughed into a traffic jam, setting off a chain collision. The driver of the tanker died before he could explain whether the truck’s brakes had failed or whether he had been distracted at the wheel.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances, but the scale of the crash once again underscores how deadly a moment’s lapse can be on congested roads.
