The end of the motorcycling season in Riga took an unexpected turn when a rider, trying to escape the police, lost control of his “flying machine” and finished his journey through a fence.
The wooden barrier offered little resistance to this impromptu speed test, neatly separating the pilot from his two-wheeled companion. Paramedics rushed to the scene and took the daredevil straight to hospital, where he now has plenty of time under a drip to consider whether his sprint against the law was really worth it.
