Geely V900 Sets New Guinness Record with Forty Two People Inside
The new Geely Galaxy V900 caught the spotlight after fitting forty two people inside during an official Guinness measurement. A people carrier normally seats up to eight, yet the V900 turned into a temporary human puzzle.
Guinness later declared it the only model in its class to swallow such a crowd. The scene looked more like a warm up session at an acrobatics school. Forty two tiny Chinese gymnasts folded themselves into layers across the seats, the floor and the narrow gaps in between. Officials took their time counting each one, then added a fresh line to the record book.
Geely offered its usual calm explanation. The V900 provides 8.41 square metres of cabin space and uses 91.8 percent of it for passengers. Buyers can choose versions with six or eight seats.
On paper the Galaxy V900 resembles a compact dance studio. It stretches to 5360 millimetres in length, stands 1998 millimetres wide and 1940 millimetres tall. A 3200 millimetre wheelbase helps the interior feel long and open.
The model arrives on the Chinese market as a hybrid. It uses a 1.5 litre petrol engine that produces 163 horsepower, paired with a battery pack offered in two sizes. One stores 43.3 kilowatt hours, the other 50 kilowatt hours. Depending on the version, electric range sits between 165 and 200 kilometres.
Such records serve an obvious promotional purpose, yet Asian manufacturers have grown increasingly vocal about cabin space and modular interior design. European and Japanese rivals still value practicality, although they rarely present it with the same sense of theatre. Geely suggests that spaciousness might soon become a competitive sport. Some brands approach it as engineering, others as entertainment. The V900 gave the impression of both at once.
