At the H2 & FC EXPO 2025 in Tokyo, Honda showcased the technical specifications of its Next Generation Fuel Cell Module alongside a fuel cell-based power generator. The new fuel cell module represents a significant leap forward in efficiency and performance, achieving a 50% reduction in production costs, doubling durability, and increasing volumetric power density by more than three times compared to its predecessor.

Mass production of the Next Generation Fuel Cell Module is set to begin in 2027, while the fuel cell power generator will enter production as early as 2026. Unlike the previous model, which was co-developed with General Motors, this new system is entirely developed by Honda. It delivers a rated output of 150 kW, operates within a voltage range of 450–850 V, and boasts a maximum efficiency of 59.8%.

With its more compact design and enhanced installation flexibility, Honda aims to expand the applications of this fuel cell module across various transportation and industrial sectors, reinforcing its commitment to a more sustainable and energy-efficient future.
