An engine bay hiding a ferocious 700-horsepower twin-turbo brute, a body sculpted purely for the racetrack, and a driver’s seat first warmed by none other than a four-time Formula 1 world champion. This Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport is heading under the hammer with an asking price higher than a factory-fresh example.

On September 25, RM Sotheby’s Arizona auction will present a rare delicacy for motorsport connoisseurs: a 2019 Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport, one of just 200 built and bearing chassis number 25. Its first owner was none other than Max Verstappen, who has since cemented his status among F1’s elite with four world titles.

When it first appeared in German showrooms, the Clubsport carried a starting price of €405,000. Today, with its celebrity provenance and barely run-in odometer showing just 2,190 kilometers, auctioneers expect bids in the $550,000 to $650,000 range.

The 991-generation GT2 RS Clubsport made its debut in late 2018 alongside the road-going 911. Conceived as the pinnacle of Porsche’s customer racing program, it was built exclusively for the track and forbidden from public roads. Beneath the rear decklid lies a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six delivering 700 horsepower, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Every panel and cabin detail was pared down and honed for aerodynamics and weight savings, where every fraction of a second matters.

Verstappen took delivery in August 2019, along with a spare set of wheels. Both Max and his father Jos—himself a former F1 driver and double podium finisher—put the Clubsport through its paces. The car even enjoyed screen time, appearing in the 2020 documentary series Max Verstappen: Whatever It Takes. True to form, it carries several of Max’s signatures and proudly displays his name on the digital dash.

After being exported from Belgium to the United States at the end of 2022, this particular Porsche has remained virtually untouched, waiting for the next collector willing to pay dearly for a machine infused with championship pedigree.
