Fatal Gambit on a Gravel Verge

The driver of a Renault Duster apparently failed to register that a vehicle ahead had halted to execute a left turn. When the realization came, it was already too late. In a desperate maneuver, he swung onto the loose gravel margin of the road to overtake, hoping to slip past the turning car. Instead, the SUV skidded out of control, veering across the center line and straight into the path of an oncoming Chevrolet Cruze.

The impact was devastating. The Duster’s driver died instantly at the scene, while the man at the wheel of the Cruze and his female passenger sustained injuries serious enough to require immediate medical attention. What began as a split-second gamble to avoid a minor delay turned into a fatal miscalculation.
