Unplugged Performance UP-RW: The “Unbreakable” Tesla Wheel That Might Just Break Your Budget

Tesla tuning heavyweight Unplugged Performance has unveiled its latest aftermarket flex: the UP-RW Road Warrior wheel, marketed as “unbreakable.” In reality, it’s a forged aluminum rim with a swappable lip protector and a bolt-on aerodynamic disc—more clever design than indestructible engineering.

The so-called durability comes from the replaceable outer guard, designed to absorb hits from curbs and potholes. If that fails and the wheel actually bends or cracks under regular use, UP offers a lifetime replacement guarantee—though the fine print behind that promise is notably absent from the press release.

On the technical side, the UP-RW pairs a forged 6061-T6 aluminum body with an aerodynamic design that cuts weight and enhances efficiency both on city streets and highways. CFD simulations show drag performance just 0.010 Cd off Tesla’s own Photon Aero covers.

The wheel fits factory 19" and 20" tire specs for the Model 3 and Y, no new rubber required. Prices start at $2,595 (around €2,390) per set—meaning this “last wheel you’ll ever need” costs more than many used cars.

Stylish, sturdy, and steeply priced, the UP-RW may not be truly unbreakable, but it’s clearly engineered to leave an impression—on both asphalt and wallets.
