Two Killed in Severe Collision Between Car and Truck in Latvia

A serious traffic accident in Latvia this morning claimed the lives of two people after a passenger car veered into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a truck. Both occupants of the car died at the scene.

The crash occurred early on the A10 highway, when for reasons still unknown the car crossed into oncoming traffic. The heavy truck approaching from the opposite direction was unable to avoid impact, and the two vehicles collided at high speed.

Footage from the truck’s onboard camera shows that no other vehicles were present at the time, and the incident did not resemble a routine overtaking maneuver. The cause of the car’s sudden lane departure remains unclear.

Police and emergency services closed both directions of the road while investigating the circumstances of the accident.
