Volvo is rolling out major technology enhancements for the XC40, EX40, EC40, V60, and V90, introducing the next-generation Volvo Car UX and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Cockpit Platform. These upgrades will make the infotainment system faster, smoother, and more intuitive. Additionally, EX30, EX40, and EC40 models in Europe will feature Plug & Charge, streamlining public charging for a hassle-free experience.

Next-Gen Volvo Car UX: Smarter, More Intuitive, More Personalized
Already featured in the EX30, EX90, and the new XC90, the latest Volvo Car UX is designed to prioritize the most frequently used apps and features—like navigation, media, and phone—offering a more focused and responsive user experience. The driver’s display has also been upgraded with a larger, clearer navigation view to enhance situational awareness.

Starting in 2024, all refreshed models will come equipped with the new Volvo Car UX, and millions of existing Volvo owners will be able to install the update via an over-the-air software upgrade. By 2025, around 2.5 million Volvo drivers will receive this update on models dating back to 2020.

Lightning-Fast Infotainment with Snapdragon Cockpit Platform
Volvo is extending the Snapdragon Cockpit Platform to more models beyond the EX90 and EX30, delivering a more than twofold increase in speed compared to the previous system and up to 10 times faster graphics processing. The new technology ensures a more fluid, high-performance infotainment experience.

Effortless Charging with Plug & Charge
For EX30, EX40, and EC40 models in Europe, Volvo is introducing Plug & Charge, which automates the authentication and payment process at public charging stations. The system instantly recognizes the vehicle and linked payment method as soon as the cable is connected, eliminating the need for extra cards or manual authentication. Compatible charging stations can be easily located via Google Maps in the infotainment display or the Volvo Cars app.
