Toyota’s RAV4 Returns Electrified and Unapologetic

Make no mistake, this isn’t just a facelift. The new RAV4 is a full-scale reinvention, pulsing on Toyota’s Arene platform. That means sharper connectivity, smarter software, upgraded safety systems and driver assists that read the road faster than you can sip your coffee. T-Mate, Safety Sense, parking assist, all working like a hyper-aware co-pilot ready before you even ask.

Now for the showstopper: revamped plug-in and full hybrid variants. The plug-in hybrid packs a 30 percent larger battery, 22.7 kWh to be exact, good for up to 100 kilometers of pure electric drive. And thanks to a new 11 kW charger, you can juice it up at home in just three hours.

But this isn’t just about efficiency. It’s also about muscle. The front-wheel-drive plug-in hybrid delivers 268 horsepower, plenty to leave others at the lights. The all-wheel-drive version offers a commanding 304 horses that set the bar in its class, with competitors left staring at its taillights.

The full hybrid hasn’t been left behind either. It now pushes out 191 horsepower in AWD form and 183 in FWD. Expect seamless acceleration, crisp responsiveness and a transmission that listens like a good friend.

Inside, drivers are greeted by a 12.9-inch touchscreen that cuts the clutter and delivers everything at a glance. The voice assistant is tuned to understand your needs, whether it's navigation, climate or music, with updates arriving wirelessly, no service visit required.

And with the MyToyota app, remote control becomes second nature. Warm it up, lock it, start it or hand over access with a digital key. This isn’t optional tech. It’s baked in.

For those craving more edge, the GR SPORT trim delivers. A widened track, sporty suspension, reinforced rear bar and lightweight 20-inch wheels transform the RAV4 into a machine that doesn’t flinch at corners or gravel. It looks like a rally car and handles like one too.

In sum, the new RAV4 isn’t just another model-year update. It’s a statement. Toyota is here to show what a 2026 SUV should be: intelligent, silent, swift and ready for anything.

Sales begin spring 2026.
