Škoda Favorit Recharged: A Spark-Filled Leap into the Future
Škoda designer Ljudmil Slavov dedicated 120 hours of his life to resurrect a beloved icon of the Czech people. What emerged is something that loosely echoes the classic Favorit, yet stands as a completely new creation in its own right.
The revived Favorit adopts the brand’s contemporary “Modern Solid” design language, though notably without Škoda’s latest “Tech-Deck Face” front fascia. Instead, minimalist LED headlights peek out from behind semi-transparent covers, adding an understated yet futuristic edge.
The doors open in opposing directions and share a single handle—think Rolls-Royce, but at a fraction of the cost.
Inside, brown leather upholstery and headrests straight out of the 1980s harken back to the era when the original Favorit first rolled off the line.
And for those craving even more nostalgia, Slavov went a step further with a rally edition, channeling the Favorit’s glory days in the WRC during the 1990s.
Will this concept ever see production? Unlikely. But if Renault can revive the 5 E-Tech and Fiat is bringing back the Grande Panda, then perhaps there’s still room for the Favorit to make a triumphant return.
