Škoda Announces Debut Date for Affordable Elroq Crossover<br><br>The debut of Škoda's highly anticipated affordable crossover, the Elroq, is just days away. The Czech automaker has revealed a fresh teaser and video clip showcasing the first details of the new model’s exterior. Alongside this, the official launch date has been confirmed: October 1, 2024, with the event taking place in the heart of Prague.<br><br>Elroq marks Škoda’s first model to adopt the brand’s new Modern Solid design language, aimed at giving Škoda vehicles a more contemporary and minimalist look. The latest images highlight the front design, dubbed Tech-Deck Face, featuring dotted matrix headlights. The rear retains Škoda’s signature C-shaped taillight motif, while the wheels have received an updated, modern design.<br><br>The Elroq is a fully electric compact crossover, built on Volkswagen’s MEB platform. The model offers four different powertrain options, with both single and dual-motor configurations, producing between 170 and 299 horsepower (125–224 kW). The base model is equipped with a 52 kWh battery, paired with a 170-horsepower motor driving the rear wheels. The largest battery option, whose exact capacity has yet to be revealed, will allow for a driving range of up to 560 kilometers on a single charge.<br><br>Thanks to its compact size and tight turning radius, the Elroq is perfectly suited for city driving as well as adventures off the beaten path. Škoda assures that the car will be an ideal companion for all kinds of journeys, whether it’s the daily commute or a weekend escape into nature.
