SEAT is celebrating its 75th anniversary with a limited run of “FR 75 Aniversario” editions across its active lineup: Ibiza, Arona, León (including the Sportstourer), and Ateca. But don’t expect a technical milestone—this is more an aesthetic reminder than a mechanical revolution.
Each “75 Aniversario” model comes wrapped in a unified visual package: black wheels, spoilers, roof rails, a black headliner, and seats aimed at conveying a sporty vibe. The FR trim’s “emotional” character is heavily emphasized, though under the surface, this is familiar territory—existing technology dressed up with a touch of exclusivity and a slightly steeper price tag.
The powertrains remain unchanged, mirroring what's already available in the FR lineup:
– Ibiza: 1.0 TSI (115 hp) or 1.5 TSI (150 hp), both with DSG automatic.
– Arona: 1.0 TSI (115 hp) with manual or DSG, and a 1.5 TSI (150 hp).
– León and Sportstourer: 1.5 TSI (115/150 hp), 2.0 TDI (150 hp), and a 1.5 e-HYBRID (204 hp) with DSG.
– Ateca: 1.5 TSI (150 hp) with manual or DSG, and a 2.0 TDI (150 hp) with DSG.
The “FR 75 Aniversario” isn’t a technological leap, nor even a new equipment tier. It’s a visually enhanced nod to SEAT’s heritage—perfectly timed from a marketing standpoint, as the brand looks to refresh its identity without calling in the engineers. For fans of the FR series, it’s a chance to feel part of the legacy. Just don’t expect anything underneath to be truly new.
