Renault Showcases Twingo E-Tech Electric at the Brussels Motor Show
Renault unveiled the Twingo E-Tech Electric concept car at the Brussels Motor Show, offering a glimpse into the design and functionality of the next-generation electric Twingo, set to debut in 2026. Inspired by the original Twingo, the prototype merges contemporary design with practical and creative solutions, redefining the compact city car for a modern audience.
A Modern and Functional Interior
The interior of the Twingo E-Tech Electric is spacious and minimalist, emphasizing practicality and ease of use for daily life. Its dashboard features a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch multimedia touchscreen, delivering both connectivity and modern aesthetics with sleek graphics. Cleverly placed storage compartments, including spaces beneath the dashboard and between the front seats, enhance functionality.
Flexibility and Comfort
The rear seatbacks fold down in a 50/50 split configuration, enabling the transportation of larger items. A large panoramic glass roof enhances the sense of space and floods the cabin with natural light, creating an airy and welcoming environment.
Creative Details and Sustainable Materials
The interior upholstery draws inspiration from the colorful patterns of the first-generation Twingo, blending nostalgia with modernity. As part of its innovative approach, the prototype’s floor is made from tinted cork, a material that is both durable and eco-friendly. Thoughtful touches include magnetic areas on the front seat headrests for rear passengers to attach their phones, elastic straps for securing water bottles, and seatback adjustment knobs designed to resemble skateboard wheels.
Honoring Its Heritage, Aiming for the Future
The Twingo E-Tech Electric concept preserves the cheerful character of the original Twingo while embracing advanced technologies and sustainable solutions. Built on the Ampere platform, the car’s development focuses on efficiency and cost-effectiveness, targeting a base price of under €20,000.
By combining the charm of its predecessor with innovative features, the Twingo E-Tech Electric showcases Renault’s commitment to creating affordable and versatile electric mobility solutions, setting a new benchmark in the urban EV segment.
