# Opel Prepares to Unveil Two New Electric Crossovers: One to be the New Frontera
Opel, the German automaker already known for its lineup of 15 electrified models including fully electric vehicles, is set to broaden its range of hybrids and electric cars across all market segments. This range spans from the tiny four-wheeled moped, Rocks, and city cars like Corsa and Mokka, to vans such as Combo Cargo, Vivaro, and Movano. Soon, two more models will join this diverse lineup – new electric crossovers, one of which has been eagerly anticipated.
The most awaited among the upcoming models is the revival of the Opel Frontera – a name that once belonged to the German brand's first SUV, now repurposed for a regular compact SUV. The Frontera will replace the Crossland in the lineup but will be larger and offer seating for seven passengers. It is expected that the new model will be standardized along with the future Citroën C3 Aircross, which has yet to be unveiled.
The second new electric vehicle in Opel's portfolio will be a fully electric variant of the Grandland crossover. This vehicle already exists in hybrid form and a model with 48-volt mild-hybrid technology. However, by the end of 2024, the new generation, sharing its powertrains with the Peugeot E-3008 within the Stellantis group, will enable the German brand to introduce a new model powered entirely by electricity.
This expansion into electric crossovers signifies Opel's commitment to electrification across all vehicle categories. By integrating these new models, Opel not only caters to the growing demand for electric vehicles but also strengthens its position as a leader in sustainable mobility solutions. With these additions, Opel continues to pave the way for a greener future, one electric vehicle at a time.
