# New Dodge Charger Outsizes BMW X7 and Outweighs Cadillac Escalade
In a remarkable unveiling, Dodge has introduced the latest iteration of its Charger Daytona, setting new benchmarks in the electric coupe segment. Surpassing the dimensions of full-sized SUVs, the new Charger Daytona boasts an impressive length of 5248 millimeters and a weight of 2648 kilograms. To put this into perspective, the BMW X7, known for its size, measures just 5172 millimeters in length, while the rear-wheel-drive Cadillac Escalade ESV tips the scales at 2624 kilograms.
With a width of 2028 millimeters, the new Dodge Charger Daytona has also seen growth, now just two millimeters narrower than the Lamborghini Aventador. However, the evolution in height is minimal; the electric vehicle is merely half an inch taller than its predecessor, reaching a height of 1499 millimeters from the ground to the roof. This suggests that the coupe likely benefits from a low center of gravity and significant stability.
The new generation Charger Daytona transitions to an all-wheel-drive system, available in electric models that produce either 503 or 680 horsepower, and gasoline versions equipped with a supercharged V6 generating 426 or 558 horsepower. The fastest muscle car in the lineup can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in just 3.3 seconds. Depending on the model, the driving range is estimated between 418 to 510 kilometers, according to the American EPA standard. However, given its 400-volt battery system, significant quick charging capabilities might not be expected.
Sales of the Dodge Charger Daytona will commence with the electric coupes, arriving at dealerships in the fall of 2024. By the spring of 2025, the lineup will expand to include five-door liftbacks and gasoline models. Prices are anticipated before summer, though specifics remain under wraps. This launch comes as Ford's Mustang recently transitioned to a new generation, with no intentions of withdrawing from the market, indicating that Stellantis has a benchmark to meet or exceed.
