Morgan Supersport – A British Lunatic That Refuses to Modernize
While most sports cars strive for refinement and safety, the Morgan Supersport is like an old-school British gentleman who flat-out refuses to follow modern etiquette. It’s lighter, stiffer, and faster than its predecessor, yet it proudly retains Morgan’s retro spirit and glorious combustion-fueled soundtrack.
The powertrain? Still the beloved BMW 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six (340 hp, 500 Nm), paired with a ZF 8-speed automatic, launching the Supersport from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. Top speed? A rather ambitious 267 km/h—more than most Morgan drivers would ever dare to attempt.
Weighing only 1,170 kg, it boasts an astonishing power-to-weight ratio of 291 hp per ton. 5% less drag and 20% less lift mean this is no longer just a stylish kite on wheels—it actually grips the road.
Supersport offers a choice of a mohair soft top or a carbon-fiber hardtop, Sennheiser’s innovative panel-embedded speakers, and, at long last, an aluminum luggage rack—something Morgans haven’t seen since the Aero 8.
And the price? £105,160. Totally impractical, utterly unique. Morgan remains Morgan—and thank heavens for that.
