Mitsubishi Confirms a New EV Is Coming to America!
Mitsubishi has made a bold and dramatic announcement: a brand-new electric car will arrive in North America in the summer of 2026! Sounds impressive, right? But here’s the little twist that might raise an eyebrow — it’s not entirely a Mitsubishi. It’s more like a next-generation Nissan LEAF in disguise, wearing a Mitsubishi badge and politely insisting, “Yes, we’re doing electric now too.”
This all ties into their grand plan called Momentum 2030 — a strategy that promises to launch a new or significantly revised model every year. Of course, whether “new” means “repainted and rebadged” remains to be seen.
As for the car itself — well, we don’t know much. No name. No pictures. No price. But Mitsubishi assures us it's coming and will be sold alongside their Outlander Plug-in Hybrid, which they proudly call the world’s first plug-in hybrid SUV. (Assuming your definition of “world’s first” is as flexible as their marketing department’s.)
So, if you've ever dreamed of owning an electric Mitsubishi that’s secretly a Nissan under the hood, summer 2026 might just be your time to shine.
