MINI Cooper Convertible Returns to the Lineup: Revamped Design and Modern Features

After a nine-year production hiatus, MINI is reintroducing its Cooper Convertible, adding a fresh new model to its range. The new version will be produced at the Oxford plant, with deliveries beginning in early 2025. The updated Cooper Convertible is equipped with a choice of two petrol engines: the 1.5-litre Cooper Convertible C generating up to 163 horsepower and the more powerful 2.0-litre Cooper Convertible S delivering 204 horsepower.

The exterior design of the new model remains true to its heritage, featuring iconic round headlights and compact dimensions, measuring 3,879 mm in length. The vehicle also offers an upgraded fully automatic soft-top roof, which can be opened or closed in 15–18 seconds at speeds of up to 30 km/h, making it ideal for spontaneous open-air drives.

Inside, the minimalist yet modern interior is highlighted by a 9.5-inch OLED touchscreen display and a redesigned toggle switch panel. High-quality materials, including recycled textiles and optional leather, enhance the cabin’s premium feel. The vehicle’s advanced voice assistant ensures easy access to various functions.

The new Cooper Convertible will be available in three trim levels: Classic, Exclusive, and Sport. The Sport trim stands out with its bold front grille and 18-inch wheels, while the Classic and Exclusive trims focus on refined styling and traditional MINI design cues.

For safety, the convertible features an integrated rollover protection system that activates automatically in the event of a rollover risk. The boot space varies from 215 litres when the roof is closed to 160 litres when open, offering practical storage for everyday use or weekend getaways.
