Mercedes-AMG CLE Limited Edition: More Carbon, Less Modesty

Once again, Mercedes has decided that subtlety is for the faint of heart. Take a freshly baked CLE Coupé or Cabriolet, sprinkle on a generous helping of carbon fibre, LED accents, AMG logos — not one, not two, but as many as branding laws will allow — and voilà: you’ve got yourself the AMG Limited Edition, a car that screams “I was made for the chosen few” before you’ve even fumbled the key out of your pocket.

To make sure everyone — and we do mean everyone — knows you’re driving that version, the exterior is adorned with oversized AMG decals, yellow accents on the coupé, black-and-blue highlights on the cabriolet, and 20-inch wheels that look like they were designed by someone who moonlights as a luxury watchmaker. And if you were worried the brakes might be a bit too... ordinary? Don’t. You get grey AMG-branded calipers as standard. Because of course you do.

Step inside, and it’s as if a fighter jet and a design atelier had a very well-funded child. The coupé gets black AMG Nappa leather with bold yellow stitching, while the cabriolet flips the script with white leather and black detailing. Naturally, there’s carbon fibre trim, illuminated AMG door sills, bespoke floor mats, and tiny AMG badges tucked into nearly every surface, just in case you forget what you’re sitting in.

And now comes the part where Mercedes basically whispers, “If you're buying a Limited Edition, you're clearly the type who wants more black.”

AMG Night Package: black gloss trim across the front, rear, wheel arches, and exhaust tips.

Night Package II: because shiny black isn’t enough, this one brings dark chrome into the mix.

AMG Styling Package: rear spoiler, aggressive diffuser, enlarged air intakes — all designed so people get out of your way faster than you can say überholspur.

The Carbon-Fibre Package for the cabriolet adds lightweight flair wherever the wind might hit. And if that still doesn’t quench your thirst for exclusivity, reach for the AMG Dynamic Plus Pack — carbon-fibre accents on the steering wheel, tactile Microcut microfiber, and beefier brakes worthy of a track day or a particularly spirited drive to your favourite café.

And now, for the kicker: the engine remains unchanged. Still the same glorious 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six, churning out 449 horsepower and 560 Nm of torque, with a cheeky overboost function that temporarily bumps that to 600 Nm, just in case you need to remind the world that performance isn’t merely an afterthought — it’s the thought.

In short? The Mercedes-AMG CLE Limited Edition isn’t just a car. It’s a statement. A carbon-clad, badge-plastered, road-owning proclamation that says:
“You may pass me. But only if I let you.”
