Mazda has introduced its new all-electric vehicle, the Mazda6e, at the Brussels Motor Show. This mid-sized five-door electric car combines elements of hatchback and fastback design, offering a stylish and functional package tailored for European markets, with availability starting later this year.

The Mazda6e brings a modern aesthetic, a minimalist interior, and a focus on the driving experience—a hallmark of Mazda’s design philosophy.

Battery Options to Suit Different Needs
The Mazda6e comes with a choice of two battery configurations:
- 68.8 kWh battery: Offers up to 482 km (300 miles) of range and supports 200 kW DC fast charging. The battery charges from 10% to 80% in just 22 minutes, adding approximately 233 km (145 miles) of range in 15 minutes. The electric motor delivers 258 horsepower, enabling a 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) sprint in 7.6 seconds.
- 80 kWh battery: Provides up to 555 km (345 miles) of range, with a motor output of 244 horsepower. Acceleration from 0–100 km/h takes 7.8 seconds. This version also supports DC fast charging, taking 45 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%.

Both versions are rear-wheel drive and produce 320 Nm of torque, ensuring a balanced and responsive driving experience.

Design Philosophy and Key Features
The Mazda6e follows the brand’s "Kodo: Soul of Motion" design language. Its low roofline, short rear deck, and flowing lines create a sporty silhouette while maintaining the practicality of a five-door vehicle. Notable design elements include frameless doors, integrated door handles, and LED lighting.

At the front, the Mazda6e features an illuminated grille surround with dynamic lighting effects that provide visual feedback on battery charge status during charging. The vehicle’s streamlined profile is accentuated by low side skirts and aerodynamic 19-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, a horizontal light bar and electronically extendable spoiler complete the look.

Interior: Minimalism Meets Functionality
The Mazda6e’s interior emphasizes simplicity and spaciousness, inspired by the Japanese design principle of "Ma," which celebrates the beauty of open space. The cabin is available in two trim levels:
- Takumi: Features beige or black artificial leather.
- Takumi Plus: Offers premium Nappa leather in a rich tan finish.

Technology plays a key role, with the Mazda6e equipped with a 14.6-inch touchscreen, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, and an augmented reality head-up display. Practicality is enhanced by a 330-liter trunk, a 70-liter front trunk, and a roomy cabin, making the Mazda6e suitable for everyday use.

The Mazda6e represents a step forward in Mazda’s electrification strategy, combining advanced technology, thoughtful design, and practicality to meet the needs of modern European drivers.
