Kia Reveals Sportage Facelift

Kia has released official teaser videos for the updated Kia Sportage, set to hit the South Korean market in November. The video hints at a refreshed look, showcasing the front and rear lights along with part of the vehicle's silhouette.

A standout feature is the Starmap lighting system, borrowed from Kia's EV9. This feature not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the Sportage but also improves visibility and safety—its constellation-inspired lighting pattern makes the vehicle more visible to drivers and pedestrians at night.

With technology and connectivity at the forefront of modern automotive design, the updated Sportage doesn’t disappoint. The car includes a new triple-screen infotainment system inspired by EV9 and EV3 interiors. This interface integrates navigation, entertainment, and vehicle settings, creating a safer and more enjoyable driving experience. The multi-screen layout ensures all key information is within easy reach.

The Sportage also draws design cues from the Kia Sorento, adopting a refined and contemporary design language. The exterior lines are sleek, while the interior emphasizes luxury, setting new standards in the compact SUV segment.

Beyond design, the Sportage is also set for technological updates in its powertrains. The current range is already diverse, featuring 2.0 and 2.5-liter gasoline engines, 1.5-, 1.6-, and 2.0-liter turbo engines, and 1.6- and 2.0-liter CRDi turbo diesels. Two hybrid versions are also available: a self-charging HEV and a plug-in hybrid PHEV. With this facelift, we can expect an even greater focus on electrified powertrains.

Safety remains a priority for Kia, with the updated Sportage including multiple advanced driver assistance systems. From collision avoidance to adaptive cruise control, these features offer peace of mind for both drivers and passengers.

The refreshed Kia Sportage will first go on sale in November in South Korea, with versions for other markets expected in 2025.
