Hyundai Ioniq 6 – Now with an “N” and Nothing Left to Prove (Almost)
The refreshed Hyundai Ioniq 6 is now sleeker, darker, and unmistakably more serious — though still not quite ready to bare its teeth on the Nürburgring without a little coaching.
It looks like something that should be doing illegal speeds even while standing still in a parking lot. Unveiled at the Seoul Mobility Show, the updated model was joined by its sportier sibling, the Ioniq 6 N Line — the one that wears its attitude as openly as its blacked-out rear end.
Inside, you’ll find a new steering wheel, upgraded materials, a supposedly more “intuitive” layout (whatever that’s meant to mean), and a larger climate control display — because let’s be honest, no one wants to adjust their cabin temperature on a screen the size of a stamp. Naturally, the N Line gets all of this too, and Hyundai proudly claims it shares “DNA” with the RN22e prototype. Translation: it wants to be a race car, but it’s still perfectly content sulking in the mall parking garage.
The real fireworks arrive in July, when the Ioniq 6 N is expected to debut — reportedly powered by the same setup found in the Ioniq 5 N: 650 horsepower, 770 Nm of torque, and 0–100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds. That’s not acceleration. That’s teleportation.
As for the regular Ioniq 6, it still comes with either one or two motors, offering 151 to 325 hp, with the all-wheel-drive version hitting 0–100 km/h in about 5.1 seconds. Top speed? Capped at 185 km/h, because Hyundai isn’t in the business of letting you dream too far. Range? Up to 614 km WLTP.
