Fatal Collision Between Truck and Fuel Tanker Claims One Life
A horrific traffic accident occurred on the 810th kilometer (some reports state 809th km) of the Tyumen–Khanty-Mansiysk federal highway, resulting in the death of a fuel truck driver. The collision between a heavy cargo truck and a fuel tanker led to a massive explosion and an intense fire that completely engulfed both vehicles.
According to official reports, a 41-year-old man (born in 1984) driving a MAN truck veered into the oncoming lane for reasons that remain under investigation. He collided head-on with an oncoming KamAZ fuel tanker. The impact was so severe that the fuel ignited instantly, turning the crash site into an inferno and making rescue efforts nearly impossible. The driver of the KamAZ died at the scene from his injuries.
Local accounts suggest that the MAN driver may have been attempting an emergency maneuver to avoid a snowplow, which forced him into the path of the tanker. The fire caused the highway, a vital artery for the region's oil and gas industry, to be paralyzed for hours as emergency services fought the flames and cleared the wreckage. Authorities have launched a full investigation to determine if road conditions or driver fatigue played a central role in this latest tragedy on this notorious stretch of road.
