Audi Unveils New Q6 Sportback e-tron: Orders Now Open in Europe

Audi has expanded its electric vehicle lineup with the introduction of the sleek Q6 Sportback e-tron. Sharing many technical features with the standard Q6 e-tron, the Sportback version offers enhanced aerodynamics due to its streamlined coupe-like shape, resulting in greater range. European customers can now choose from four configurations, varying in performance and drivetrain options.

Streamlined Design, Increased Efficiency

The Q6 Sportback e-tron stands out from the regular Q6 e-tron with its lower, coupe-like roofline, which is 37 mm lower. Despite this, the wheelbase remains the same, ensuring a spacious and comfortable interior. The coupe silhouette results in improved aerodynamics, with a drag coefficient of just 0.26, compared to 0.28 for the standard Q6 e-tron. This contributes to an impressive range of up to 656 kilometers on a single charge, making it the longest range in the Q6 family.

High-Tech Interior Features

Inside, the Q6 Sportback e-tron is packed with cutting-edge technology. Drivers are greeted by an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster, complemented by a 14.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system powered by Android Automotive OS. Additional features include an augmented reality heads-up display and a 10.9-inch screen for the front passenger.

One of the standout features is the voice assistant, enhanced by ChatGPT, capable of recognizing up to 800 commands. Audiophiles will also appreciate the Bang & Olufsen sound system with 20 speakers, including four embedded in the front seat headrests for a premium listening experience.

Powertrain and Performance Options

The Q6 Sportback e-tron starts with a rear-wheel-drive version powered by a 252-horsepower electric motor. This variant accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 7 seconds, utilizing an 83 kWh battery. Next up is the Q6 Sportback e-tron performance, equipped with a more powerful 306-horsepower motor and a larger 100 kWh battery, reaching 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds.

For those who prefer all-wheel drive, the Q6 Sportback e-tron quattro features dual electric motors producing a combined 387 horsepower, with a 0-100 km/h time of 5.9 seconds. The sportiest option, the SQ6 Sportback e-tron, delivers 489 horsepower, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in a blistering 4.3 seconds, with a top speed of 230 km/h.

Depending on the battery size, these models offer a driving range between 545 and 656 kilometers. Fast charging is equally impressive, with the battery charging from 10% to 80% in just 22 minutes.

Production and Market Launch

The production of the Q6 Sportback e-tron and SQ6 Sportback e-tron takes place at Audi's home in Ingolstadt, Germany.
