Audi Unveils New Generation Q5 Sportback and SQ5 Sportback

Audi has unveiled updates to its model lineup, introducing the second generation of the Audi Q5 Sportback and the sporty SQ5 Sportback, which combine the practicality and spaciousness of SUVs with a stylish coupe-like silhouette and modern technologies.

The model features a dynamic design line that runs smoothly over the sides of the vehicle and gently slopes to the rear window, starting from a newly shaped radiator grille and ending at the taillights. The new design of the front and rear lights gives the vehicle a more modern appearance, while larger air intakes and diffusers emphasize sportiness. The rear LED lights add visual dynamism.

The interior of the Audi Q5 Sportback reflects the manufacturer's design philosophy, which aims to combine ergonomics and aesthetics. Emphasis was placed on sustainability in the choice of materials—for example, recycled polyester is used in Cascade upholstery. The "Softwrap" element integrates the door panels, dashboard, and center section into a cohesive whole. The cabin's climate control system can operate even when the engine is turned off.

The Q5 Sportback is built on the Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) platform, enhanced by 48-volt mild hybrid technology. This system supports fuel consumption reduction and allows for limited electric driving and energy recovery during braking.

The engine lineup includes three options, ranging from a 2.0 TFSI engine (204 hp) to a powerful 3.0-liter V6 TFSI (367 hp) used in the SQ5 Sportback. All models are equipped with a seven-speed S tronic automatic transmission. Quattro all-wheel drive is available as an option.

The Audi Q5 Sportback and SQ5 Sportback will arrive on European markets in December 2024, with prices starting at 54,800 and 85,400 euros, respectively.
