Unique AGTZ Twin Tail Unveiled at Rétromobile 2025

At the ongoing Rétromobile 2025 show in Paris, La Squadra and Atelier Zagato have officially presented the first customer-built AGTZ Twin Tail—an extraordinary creation blending retro racing heritage with modern craftsmanship. This exclusive machine draws inspiration from the late-1960s racing legend, the A220, which was renowned for its modular rear section, allowing teams to optimize aerodynamics for different race conditions.

Carrying this historic DNA into the present, the AGTZ Twin Tail features a removable rear section, enabling the driver to switch between a Long Tail configuration for enhanced aerodynamics and a Short Tail setup for a more compact and aggressive stance. Adding to its exclusivity, the detached rear end can even serve as a garage display piece, turning engineering into art. Each of the 19 handcrafted units will be entirely bespoke, reflecting the personal style and preferences of its owner.

Commission #3 – A Tribute to Racing History
The first completed car, known as Commission #3, is a personalized interpretation of the A220’s legacy, paying homage to the 1969 chassis #1736, which competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This one-of-a-kind build stands out with a striking livery and custom-designed wheels, embodying the golden era of motorsport in a contemporary package.

Atelier Zagato has hinted that the next AGTZ Twin Tail will be revealed soon. With production strictly limited to just 19 units, most have already been spoken for, making this a rare collector’s gem.
