A self-driving electric car completed the moose test
A self-driving electric car developed by IM, a joint venture between the internet giant Alibaba, authorities of Shanghai's Pudong district, and automotive group SAIC, has successfully completed the moose test. This vehicle, named L6, has not yet been officially unveiled, but the manufacturer is gradually releasing information about it and showcasing its capabilities. Recently, the company demonstrated the car's autopilot system by executing the moose test, which involves swiftly changing lanes—as if encountering a real animal—before returning to the original lane, all while navigating between cones.
Typically, the correct speed for passing the moose test is considered to be 77 kilometers per hour, but in this instance, the car was limited to 71 kilometers per hour. However, this is still seen as progress since the autopilot effectively avoided obstacles.
