Volvo ES90: A New Flagship in Electric Innovation

Volvo is set to unveil its latest fully electric flagship, the ES90, built on the cutting-edge Superset technology platform. This next-generation vehicle is software-defined, designed for continuous enhancement and evolution through over-the-air updates.

The ES90 is Volvo’s first model equipped with dual NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin computers, making it the most powerful Volvo ever in terms of computing capacity. Its AI-driven safety technology processes an astonishing 508 trillion operations per second, significantly improving driving safety, battery management, and overall vehicle performance.

Built on Volvo’s latest SPA2 architecture, the ES90 is the second model after the EX90 to feature the Superset tech stack. This system enables seamless software updates over the air (OTA), enhancing connectivity, security, and even battery range adaptation based on driving behavior.

To ensure exceptional safety, the ES90 is equipped with an advanced sensor suite, including lidar, five radars, eight cameras, and twelve ultrasonic sensors. Additionally, an occupant monitoring system constantly evaluates the driver’s condition to prevent potential hazards. This technology can detect obstacles even in complete darkness and activate collision avoidance systems when necessary.
