Vilnius Airport closed its runway on Thursday after a LOT Polish Airlines flight arriving from Warsaw slipped off the taxiway following landing.
The Embraer touched down at 13.43 but strayed off the paved surface while heading toward the stand, said airport spokesperson Tadas Vasiliauskas. The aircraft came to a halt on the northern side of the airfield, where emergency crews and service vehicles quickly surrounded it. Passengers were later escorted off the plane.
The runway was temporarily closed, with restrictions expected to last at least until 17.00. Early reports indicate that no one was injured. The cause of the incident is still being investigated.
