A new video has surfaced showing the recent Ukrainian attack on two Russian tankers operating as part of the Kremlin’s shadow fleet. The footage captures Ukraine’s Sea Baby maritime drones steering confidently towards their targets and hitting the large vessels without apparent difficulty.
The strike coincided with a separate assault on infrastructure at Novorossiysk, Russia’s main oil port. Tankers waiting offshore for their cargo scattered in every direction, a scene that looked more like startled insects than a disciplined shipping queue. Traffic cleared fast, although the repairs are unlikely to take long.
Strategic pressure at sea
The incident highlights the growing reach of Ukraine’s maritime drone programme and the mounting pressure on Russia’s covert oil logistics. Each strike chips away at Moscow’s ability to move sanctioned crude through the Black Sea. For Ukraine, the Sea Baby fleet has become both a tactical tool and a symbol of how ingenuity can disrupt a much larger navy.
