Truck and Car Collision in Latvia Erupts in Flames, Road Shut for Hours
A routine drive in Latvia turned into a scene of fire and chaos when a passenger car collided with a truck, sending the heavy vehicle into a ditch and leaving its trailer sprawled across the road before bursting into flames.
Last week a serious road accident in Latvia escalated dramatically after a collision between a passenger car and a truck ended in fire and complete traffic shutdown. The impact caused the truck to lose control, slide into a ditch, and topple onto its side. Its trailer swung across the roadway, blocking all lanes in both directions.
The situation quickly worsened when the truck caught fire, transforming the crash site into a dangerous blaze. Emergency services rushed to the scene, where firefighters battled the flames and crews worked to secure the wreckage.
Miraculously, no one was injured in the incident. Still, the scale of the crash meant that fire suppression and road clearance operations stretched on for several hours, leaving traffic at a standstill until the route was finally reopened.
