Tesla Autopilot Accumulates Seven Traffic Fines in a Single Drive

Chinese auto blogger Chén Zhèn recently conducted a comprehensive test of multiple autonomous driving systems, including Tesla Model Y's Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology and the self-driving solutions of Chinese automakers Li Auto and Aito. The results were far from flattering for Tesla—its autopilot system committed seven traffic violations in just one trip.

During the test, Tesla's autopilot repeatedly veered into bicycle lanes, crossed solid lane markings, and continued straight in lanes designated exclusively for turning. In total, the driver had to intervene 24 times, and the system was responsible for 34 infractions. In comparison, the Li Auto Li L7 system required nine interventions and committed 14 violations, while the Aito M9 needed 12 interventions and also racked up 14 violations.

Tesla's autonomous driving technology is still relatively new to the Chinese market and is in the process of refinement as it collects more real-world driving data.
