Renault confirmed the name of its new Niagara pickup and released the first teaser video of the model. Designed for Latin American markets, the vehicle will make its debut on 10 September 2026 and go on sale before the end of the year.

Niagara is built for Latin America

The Renault Niagara is the brand’s new pickup, aimed primarily at Latin America. Production will take place at Renault’s Córdoba plant in Argentina. According to Renault, the model forms part of its futuREady strategy, under which the company plans to launch 14 new models outside Europe by 2030.

The first video shows mainly the rear of the vehicle, including the tailgate, lighting signature and cargo bed details. The design clearly refers back to the Niagara concept shown in 2023, although the production model appears simpler, tougher and more practical.

Technical details remain under wraps

Renault has not yet revealed the Niagara’s engines or dimensions. The 2023 Niagara Concept used an E Tech 4x4 system, with a mild hybrid combustion engine driving the front axle and an electric motor powering the rear axle. Renault has not confirmed that setup for the production version.

The Niagara may use a monocoque structure, which would place it closer to urban and lifestyle pickups than traditional body on frame workhorses. For now, Renault is stressing versatility, space, comfort and rugged design.

A strategic model for Renault

For Renault, the Niagara is more than another niche product. It strengthens the brand’s position in a region where small and medium sized pickups play a serious role as both family transport and working vehicles.

The full picture will emerge in September, when Renault reveals the production model properly. Until then, the first teaser does its job neatly enough: a tailgate, a name and a clear reminder that Renault still sees plenty of opportunity far beyond Europe.
