Gravel or Asphalt, It Still Shakes the Same

Some potholes are so old they could qualify for heritage protection. Others appear overnight like mushrooms after rain, patiently waiting for the first unlucky driver to sacrifice a rear axle. At this point, navigation systems shouldn’t just show traffic jams, they ought to flag the newest craters too.

Potholes exist everywhere, but in some places they’ve become a kind of art form. Some countries build roads simply to get from point A to point B. In others, there are bonus stops — points C, D and “hole” — each offering a touch of excitement. Every drive turns into a miniature rally stage where victory isn’t about arriving first, but about keeping your wheels, and perhaps your teeth, intact.

Still, best not to complain. At least the ride is never dull. Every journey feels like a lottery ticket, and every clonk reminds us we live in a country where smooth tarmac is a pleasant surprise rather than a given.
