Porsche is rolling out yet another limited special edition for the Taycan and Cayenne, this time under the moniker “Black Edition.” As the name suggests, it’s primarily a visual treatment—black accents inside and out—rather than a feat of engineering. There’s no breakthrough under the hood, just a styling refresh wrapped in a price tag that reminds you aesthetics cost.
The Taycan Black Edition comes standard with the larger 105 kWh Performance Plus battery, offering up to 668 kilometers of range under the WLTP cycle—an increase of up to 76 kilometers over the base model, where this battery is typically an optional upgrade. For the Cayenne, the specs remain unchanged; the differences are purely cosmetic and in added features.
Both models lean heavily into the blacked-out look: black trim, black badging, black covers, and all things noir. Ironically, “Black Edition” doesn’t require the car to actually be black—buyers can opt for grey, white, or silver if they prefer.
Prices for the Taycan Black Edition start at €124,504, climbing to €143,150 for the Sport Turismo version. The Cayenne ranges from €134,728 to €147,034, depending on the powertrain and body style.
On top of that, Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur offers bespoke customization options and a dedicated “Black Edition” package, which includes special badging on the doors, illuminated door sills, and a color-matched key set—all, of course, at an extra cost.
The Black Edition is a textbook example of how strategic paint and packaging can reframe an existing model as fresh and desirable—especially for those more drawn to the brand’s prestige than technical innovation. And that’s exactly what many Porsche buyers want: not just a car, but a feeling.
