Porsche Electrifies Its Icon: The New Macan GTS Arrives

Porsche has added a fiery GTS version to its electric Macan line-up, blending 571 horsepower, 3.8-second acceleration, and the familiar black-accented GTS identity. It marks the first fully electric Macan to wear those three legendary letters.

When Porsche first attached the GTS badge to the 1963 904 Carrera GTS, it stood for greater performance and driver-focused engineering. Six decades later, the symbol returns on a new kind of machine, one that carries the legend into the electric era.

Power and Precision

At its core, the Macan GTS uses a rear-mounted electric motor measuring 230 millimetres in diameter and 210 millimetres in length, driven by a 900-amp silicon carbide inverter. The setup delivers 516 horsepower, which peaks at 571 horsepower when Launch Control is engaged. With 955 Nm of torque, the GTS sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and hits 200 km/h in 13.3 seconds. Top speed is limited to 250 km/h.

Range is as impressive as performance. The 100 kWh high-voltage battery offers up to 586 kilometres of WLTP-certified driving range, and 270 kW charging restores energy from 10 to 80 percent in just 21 minutes.

Chassis and Dynamics

The GTS’s personality rests firmly in its suspension. Porsche fitted lowered air suspension, Active Suspension Management, and an electronically controlled rear differential lock, distributing power precisely where it’s needed. With a rear-biased weight distribution (48/52) and a low centre of gravity, the car remains sharp and stable through corners. For those who crave extra agility, a rear-axle steering system can make the handling even crisper.

A new Track Mode adjusts battery cooling and maintains consistent output over multiple laps. It works in tandem with Porsche Electric Sport Sound, which gives the powertrain a distinct yet refined artificial note that complements the car’s character.

Design: Classic GTS, Electrified

Visually, the Macan GTS is unmistakably Porsche and unmistakably GTS. Black trim elements, tinted Matrix LED headlights, new side skirts and rear bumpers, and 21-inch Macan Design wheels create a muscular silhouette. Three new paint choices—Crayon, Carmine Red, and Lugano Blue—add a flash of personality.

Inside, the same theme continues. Black leather and Race-Tex upholstery strike a balance between sport and luxury, while the GTS interior package introduces body-coloured stitching, seatbelts, and GTS logos, along with carbon fibre inlays on the steering wheel, dashboard, and doors. 18-way adjustable sport seats keep the driver firmly in place no matter how hard the accelerator is pressed.

Technology and Everyday Practicality

Digitally, the GTS keeps up with Porsche’s latest thinking. It introduces the Porsche Digital Key, AI-based voice control, enhanced parking assistance, and even the ability to play games while parked. Practicality remains intact too, with towing capacity increased to 2.5 tonnes, ensuring no toys are left behind.

Prices in Europe start from €106,461, placing the Macan GTS squarely in the territory of performance SUVs that are as fast as they are forward-looking.
