“Phew, Lucky,” Thought the Motorcyclist. “Not Today,” Thought the Driver

To the motorcyclist, the whole scene played out like something from a poorly directed action film. In the driver’s head, though, it was likely a completely different movie — one understood only by the protagonist and his oddly timed reverse gear, which slipped in faster than a summer mosquito through an open window. The driver may have intended one thing, but, as so often happens, it turned out quite another.
