Opel has announced an upgrade to its Frontera Electric lineup with the new “Extended Range” variant, packing a larger 54 kWh battery that delivers up to 408 kilometers on a single charge under WLTP standards—a notable jump from the previous 44 kWh model’s 305 kilometers.

The Frontera Electric Extended Range starts at €27,000, while the smaller-battery base model holds the line at €24,900. Opel is also keeping its two hybrid options (145 hp and 110 hp), which begin at €19,900.

Despite the increased capacity, energy consumption has actually improved, now rated at 15.8–16.5 kWh per 100 kilometers. And with 100 kW DC fast charging, the battery can top up from 20 to 80 percent in just 30 minutes. Inside, the Frontera offers a spacious and versatile layout—up to 1,600 liters of cargo space, split-folding rear seats (60:40), and comfort-focused touches like Intelli-Seats and ergonomic front chairs with a central backrest cut-out.

Across many European countries, the electric Frontera will come bundled with useful extras as standard: an eProWallbox home charger, e-route planning services, eight years of roadside assistance, and a battery warranty. Opel’s pitch is clear—cut the barriers, simplify the switch, and make going electric an easier choice for the everyday driver.
