Opel to Showcase Three Bold Electric Concepts in Munich

The spotlight will fall first on the most theatrical of the three: the Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo. With a claimed 800 horsepower, a 0–100 km/h sprint in two seconds and a top speed of 320 km/h, the car is as much a digital avatar as a physical prototype. This autumn, it will also appear as a drivable machine in Gran Turismo 7, underscoring its role as a marketing spectacle rather than a preview of a production model.

For those seeking something more tangible, Opel will unveil the new Mokka GSE, a roadgoing derivative of its namesake rally car. With 280 horsepower, 5.9 seconds to 100 km/h and a 200 km/h top speed, it becomes Opel’s fastest fully electric production car to date. Alongside it, the Grandland Electric AWD marks the brand’s first all-wheel-drive EV, boasting a WLTP range of 489 kilometers.

Opel’s presence will span both the main exhibition halls and Munich’s city-center Open Space, where the cars will be joined by lifestyle distractions ranging from vinyl records to branded curiosities. Beneath the marketing gloss lies a clear intent: Opel wants to shift the narrative around EVs from obligation to entertainment.

Opel will arrive at this year’s IAA Mobility show with the exuberant slogan “OMG! GSE” and a trio of electric concepts designed to prove that Rüsselsheim can still build cars with emotional appeal—even when powered entirely by batteries.
