OMODA 4 Steps Into the Spotlight: A Cyber Warrior That Sees Itself as a Car, Not Just a Vehicle
Chery has unveiled the OMODA 4, a compact SUV that looks as though it has driven straight out of a digital universe where gaming aesthetics, robotics, and science fiction collide. Set to hit European roads in 2026, this B-segment crossover promises to blend futuristic design, high-tech user interfaces, and the digital mindset of a new generation.
The debut at Chery’s global headquarters was anything but conventional. Models dressed in sci-fi costumes filled the stage, bartenders served “quantum cocktails,” and guests were invited to a body-painting zone. It was a spectacle tailored to a car seemingly designed in a parallel world where fashion designers and e-sports players share the same creative space.
The Birth of a Smaller Cyber SUV
Originally codenamed OMODA 3, the new model joins Chery’s expanding OMODA line-up as a smaller urban SUV. Targeted at the European B-segment, it will compete with the Nissan Juke and Peugeot 2008.
OMODA’s latest design philosophy, dubbed Cyber Mecha, fuses mechanical precision with cyberpunk flair. Both the front and rear light signatures feature a lightning-bolt motif, giving the impression that the vehicle is slicing through a web of cosmic energy portals.
Inside the O-Universe
According to chief designer Richard Koo, the new O-Universe Lighting represents Chery’s visual signature for an era where the virtual and physical worlds merge. The same concept extends into the cabin. The twin-screen cockpit, powered by a Snapdragon 2.5K processor, feels closer to a gaming rig than a traditional dashboard. Diamond-shaped physical buttons surround the centre console, anchored by a red, pilot-style start guard. Every drive begins with a touch of theatre.
Designed With Fans, Not Just for Them
The OMODA 4 also introduces a co-creation model. Through the Co-Creation Ambassadors programme, fans and early adopters can offer feedback directly to the design team, shaping the final production version.
Coming to Europe in 2026
Detailed specifications on powertrains, equipment, and pricing will be revealed closer to launch, but Chery has already confirmed a seven-year (160,000 km) warranty and an eight-year battery cover. Sales will begin through the OMODA & JAECOO dealer network, with the company aiming to capture the imagination and the loyalty of Europe’s young, tech-minded drivers.
