Nissan’s Z Heritage Edition Reawakens the 300ZX Spirit

Nissan’s 2026 Z range adds a new Heritage Edition, a nostalgia-heavy package that borrows cues from the iconic 300ZX of the nineties while steering clear of any mechanical advancements.

Nissan pulled the covers off its 2026 Z lineup at the ZCON gathering, where the spotlight fell on the new Heritage Edition—a cosmetic treatment aimed squarely at enthusiasts who remember the Z32 era with a smile.

Available exclusively on the Z Performance trim, the Heritage Edition tacks on 2,940 dollars to the sticker, bringing the total to 55,910 dollars. That is no small sum for what amounts to a handful of visual flourishes. Included in the bundle are bronze-finished 19-inch RAYS wheels, a carbon-fiber rear spoiler adorned with a “Twin Turbo” script, matching side decals, and interior accents such as bespoke mats and sill plates. The centerpiece is Midnight Purple paint, a shade that has long been a sales draw for the GT-R and now finds its way onto the Z.

Under the hood, nothing changes. Both Sport and Performance trims continue with the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 rated at 400 horsepower, while the NISMO variant edges slightly higher with an extra ten horses and a bump in torque. Transmission choices remain a six-speed manual or a nine-speed automatic.

Nissan positions the Heritage Edition as a tribute to the Z’s lineage and design heritage, but in truth it reads more like a light refresh of an already aging car—one that leans heavily on nostalgia and the loyalty of long-time fans rather than genuine innovation.
