MG Hybrid+: A Hybrid That Doesn’t Settle for Less

While most hybrid cars aim to be just a touch thriftier than their gasoline counterparts, MG’s engineers had a different idea. They took hybrid tech, cranked every metric higher, and dubbed it Hybrid+ - because everything about it has more: more battery, more electricity, more silence, more space.

The new Hybrid+ system is now powering the MG3 and MG ZS, and soon, it will make its way into the MG HS. MG calls these “the most electric hybrids on the market” - and for once, the marketing might be telling the truth.

So what makes this more than your average hybrid?

Bigger Battery: At 1.83 kWh, it's nearly three times larger than what rivals offer, giving the electric motor real stamina.

Stronger Electric Motor: Delivering 100 kW (136 hp) and 250 Nm, it packs enough punch for confident overtaking.

Higher Voltage System: Operating at 350 volts - double that of standard hybrids - for more power and sharper regeneration.

Longer Electric Range: Around 10 kilometers on pure electric - no plug, no fuss, just quiet, clean driving.

Higher Electric Speed: Over 90 km/h without the engine kicking in, so urban cruising stays truly silent.

Combined Output: A solid 196 hp with the petrol engine, enough to make hybrid skeptics sit up and take notice.

Real-World Performance: The MG3 Hybrid+ hits 0–100 km/h in 8 seconds, with a top speed of 170 km/h. The ZS Hybrid+ is a bit more relaxed at 8.7 seconds and 168 km/h.

Low Fuel Consumption: Under 5 liters per 100 km on the WLTP cycle, with a range topping 700 km per tank.

Quiet Comfort: Forget hybrids that scream like vacuum cleaners - MG’s three-speed automatic keeps revs low and refinement high.

More Space: Smart tech placement keeps the cabin and trunk just as roomy. Electric for the city, petrol for the country - and space for everything in between.

MG Hybrid+ isn’t trying to be just a “greener” car. It’s trying to be a better one, full stop.
