Lancia returns to rallying, the new Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale opens a fresh WRC2 chapter
After years on the sidelines, Lancia is making an official return to rallying. In 2026 the brand will enter the WRC2 championship with the all new Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale, a car that fuses Lancia’s rally heritage with Stellantis Motorsport engineering. The aim is clear. Lancia wants to compete at the sharp end rather than rely on nostalgia.
The Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale is a joint effort between Lancia and Stellantis Motorsport. It uses a 1.6 litre turbo engine with 287 horsepower and 425 newton metres of torque, a five speed Sadev sequential gearbox, all wheel drive and Reiger suspension adjustable in three directions. A new roll cage that meets FIA standards improves body rigidity and safety.
Engineers who once worked on Citroën and Peugeot WRC programmes contributed to the project. Development and testing took place in Satory and Balocco, where the team refined suspension, aerodynamics, drivetrain and overall feel across every surface the car might face.
Lancia’s rally ladder consists of three models.
• Ypsilon HF Racing for FIA Rally6.
• Ypsilon Rally4 HF for the Trofeo Lancia series.
• The new Rally2 HF Integrale for competition just below the top class.
Lancia will start at least eight WRC2 rounds beginning with Monte Carlo. The brand will also appear in the FIA European Championship and in national series in Italy, France, Spain and Belgium. The first customer cars arrive in the first quarter of 2026.
Lancia stresses that the comeback is not a sentimental exercise. The plan is to develop new drivers, build a strong customer network and re establish the brand at the front of rallying. Heritage serves as a foundation for technology rather than a museum display.
In short, Lancia is not recreating legends. The new Rally2 HF Integrale signals a genuine intent to return to the sport.
