Russian racing driver Mikhail Charoudin got behind the wheel of that shining monument to domestic engineering, the Lada Vesta, and took it to the Nürburgring.
The result was, naturally, historic. Over the course of the video, the Vesta managed to reach 160 km/h, overtake exactly one car, and inspire its driver to repeatedly ask the most technically relevant question available: “Why the fuck won’t you go?”
For context, the Lada Vesta costs in Russia from roughly €14,000, rising to about €32,000 for the top Sport version. Which means that, depending on specification, buyers can spend anything from modest hatchback money to proper used performance-car money on something that arrives at the Nürburgring mainly to provide emotional support to faster machinery.
