Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut Shatters Rimac Record with New 0–400–0 km/h Benchmark

Swedish hypercar maker Koenigsegg has proven once again that the internal combustion engine isn’t done yet. The Jesko Absolut completed the iconic 0–400–0 km/h challenge in just 25.21 seconds, beating the previous record holder, the Rimac Nevera R, which clocked 25.79 seconds.

Back in July 2024, the Jesko managed the same feat in 27.83 seconds but had to concede the crown to the electric Rimac. This time, Koenigsegg’s win comes thanks to precise technical refinements — recalibrating the gearbox and fine-tuning the electronics, including torque management, which reduced traction control intervention during launch. These upgrades will also be offered to existing Jesko customers worldwide.

Power comes from a 5.1-liter twin-turbo V8 producing up to 1,622 hp on E85 fuel, sent exclusively to the rear wheels. Compared to the Jesko Attack, the Absolut features a sleeker, low-drag aerodynamic setup, all aimed at maximizing top speed.

Koenigsegg stresses the record was set under controlled conditions, reinforcing the brand’s place in the ultimate speed league. Rimac still holds an impressive 24 other world records, including 0–100 km/h in 1.72 seconds and 0–400 km/h in 17.35 seconds.

With the right setup and meticulous engineering, the Jesko Absolut shows that a combustion-powered machine can still outgun electric rivals — at least when the track and conditions are perfect.
