Volume production of the new generation Kia XCeed will begin at Kia’s Žilina plant in Slovakia at the end of the month. The updated crossover was developed for European buyers in the fiercely contested C segment, combining Kia’s latest Opposites United design language with a broader set of modern technology.
The new XCeed will be assembled on the same line as the Kia Sportage, along with the EV2 and EV4 electric models. Kia will offer a range of powertrains to suit different markets, including petrol engines, mild hybrids and electric versions.
Compared with earlier versions, the new XCeed received a thorough update. The equipment list now includes a digital cockpit with two 12.3 inch displays for instruments and infotainment, as well as Digital Key 2.0, which turns a smartphone into the car key.
Kia also worked on comfort and handling, giving the crossover a sharper, more dynamic character. It is still pitched as a practical European C segment model, but now with a little more polish and a clearer place in Kia’s fast changing line up.
