Kia PV5 Chassis Cab and a New Business Ecosystem, a Modular Electric Van Takes a Confident Step Forward

Kia arrived at Solutrans 2025 with the PV5 Chassis Cab, a modular electric van built for commercial flexibility and endless upfitting. Alongside the vehicle the company launched Kia Business Solutions, a digital platform that ties charging, connectivity and fleet management into a single business tool.

The PV5 Chassis Cab uses the E G M P S platform for electric commercial vehicles and keeps its overall length under five metres. Payload reaches 1 005 kilograms and the tall body version offers up to eight cubic metres of cargo space. It squares up to D segment vans while keeping the tighter manoeuvring of a smaller model.

European coachbuilders contributed to the development. The PV5 can be configured as a tipper, a box or refrigerated van, a delivery vehicle or a site support truck. The Lyon showcase even included a food truck based on the same chassis.

Two batteries are part of the plan. The standard 51.5 kilowatt hour pack goes on sale first, followed by a 71.2 kilowatt hour option in 2026. Depending on body style, range sits between roughly 300 and 416 kilometres. A fast charger restores 10 to 80 percent in about thirty minutes.

A steel reinforced structure underpins the safety kit, which includes smart speed assistance, cruise control, lane support and cornering aids. Kia offers a seven year or 150 000 kilometre warranty with the option to extend it.

Kia also presented a fresh management platform for business users. It brings charging, fleet tracking, data driven oversight and workflow tools into one portal.

Charge Business provides access to more than one million charging points across Europe. PLEOS Fleet manages vehicles without extra hardware. Business Mode in the app collects charging data, trip logs and maintenance schedules. New vehicles and users can be added with only a few clicks.

With the PV5, Kia pushes the van sector towards modular, software led and data aware work tools. Rivals are investing heavily in electric commercial vehicles, yet Kia leans harder on digital services and builds a clearer link between the van and the daily operations of the businesses that run them.
