Ineos Grenadier Game Viewer, the ideal choice if you would like lions to consider you a light snack
Purpose built off road specials do not appear often in the world of safari vehicles. Ineos decided to fill a gap that African operators have been pointing out for years. The result is the Ineos Grenadier Game Viewer, a nine seat workhorse produced in Botswana from early next year. It is aimed directly at the toughest conditions in wildlife tourism.
Botswana will receive kit form Grenadiers from the French factory without paint, rear doors, roof, side windows or additional rows of seats and without any unnecessary electrics. In effect, only the skeleton and the driver’s seat make the journey. Everything else is built locally to suit specific safari requirements.
The approach promises a focused tool. An open body does not reduce the strength or capability of the vehicle because the chassis remains the same as the standard Grenadier. Seating stretches to nine places, which appeals to safari companies and the managers of national parks and conservation areas. You can feel perfectly safe before meeting any wild predators.
Ineos allows owners to service the vehicles themselves. The warranty stays in place as long as the company’s guidelines are followed and genuine parts are used. This matters in regions where the nearest dealer may be several hundred kilometres away. The Botswana branch provides training and parts supply so that every operator can keep the vehicle running in harsh environments.
Although the Game Viewer is created for Africa, it will not remain tied to the continent. The model is also headed for major wildlife reserves and private parks around the world that need a durable and straightforward tool. In a market where many rivals try to inject luxury into every corner, this utilitarian philosophy makes the Ineos Grenadier stand apart. The safari version feels like a sober message from engineers to a world that keeps turning its SUVs into something close to beauty queens.
