Honda CUV e⁺: The Smart Scooter With a Hint of Sass
Honda continues its uphill push into the EV market with the launch of its second electric two-wheeler for Europe—the CUV e:. The name might sound like a new wellness supplement, but what we’ve got here is a scooter, dressed in sharper lines and a sleeker screen. Following the earlier EM1 e:, this newcomer is faster, longer-legged, and smarter.
So what’s in the box? Over 70 kilometers of range, two removable batteries, 22 Nm of torque, and a top speed said to rival that of a 125cc gas scooter. Of course, “rival” is doing a lot of heavy lifting here—it’s the EV equivalent of saying Netflix “works fine” on spotty Wi-Fi.
If your ride takes an unexpected turn—say, a detour for charging—you’ll have the new seven-inch RoadSync Duo display to guide you. It monitors your battery in real time and offers “intelligent navigation,” which basically means that if you head off into the woods with 50% charge, it’ll politely suggest you rethink your life choices. The app also updates itself OTA, because what’s a modern scooter without the occasional software refresh?
Other highlights?
– 12-inch wheels, because small is the new bold
– LED lights, because it has to glow to go
– Reverse assist, because someone’s actually going to try parallel parking this thing
– USB-C port, because phones matter more than fuel
– And, naturally, a smart key—because a regular key is apparently just too last century
Pricing ranges from €4,000 to €4,550, depending on whether you go for the 5-inch or 7-inch screen. That price includes both batteries and both chargers, so thankfully this isn’t one of those “starter kits” that nickel-and-dime you for the essentials.
Sales kick off in September—just in time to park it in the garage before the first snow hits.
